The Freeman Program has been designed over a number of years to create a proven affective Cognitive change program that goes beyond limitations.
The 10 Week Freeman Program can help with:
Anxiety, Depression, Confidence issues, Alcohol and Drug problems, Stress, PTSD, Life Purpose, Relationships, Identity and work life..
The Common Problem – Clients will tell us often that they find trips to the GP for depression anxiety, Low mood and other mental health issues difficult or unhelpful. Clients being processed through the NHS will more often than not be prescribed medication or referred to IAPT or other help services. The problems with this (albeit needed for short term help to a clients needs) is that these services have high drop off rates and are in some cases not designed for individuals goals, wants, needs or expectations.
What we have found with mental health services in the UK –
NHS IAPT services can be great a start of helping people in crisis, and a resent study has shown that a telephone services do help but what they make up for in immediate change modifications to a clients mental health they lack psychodynamic approaches and cognitive change learning which can be essential to a person breaking out of a learned behaviour and living a changed life. When these services such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy are truly needed the waiting lists can be over 9 months, by which time a client has excepted their issues or buried them.
The Freeman Program – As psychology of change is wanted, needed or a necessity by a client, single sessions of private therapy can only go so far if the client is not taken through certain steps. There may be break throughs within sessions and the client may feel better after 2 or 3 sessions and learn some valuable techniques, but if these techniques are not practised , assessed, re-evaluated and INGRAINED into a clients cognitive belief system then the process can ultimately fail. Learnt techniques need to be tested in the chaos of every day life and if or when systems fail secondary systems need to be used till the client has learnt the new techniques .
The ten week program:
Stage 1 Evaluation, Understanding, Trust, Beliefs, Needs.
In the first stage Client and therapist will need to explore issues, cognitive beliefs and history of the client. At this stage it is important to work on finding route causes and allowing exploration through Socratic frameworks.
Stage 2 Concepts, positive changes and reframing.
Stage 2 is all about taking what the client believes reframing to a more positive and healthy mindset and building change in a self-concept focus. Client and therapist will set goals and challenges to be tested outside of a controlled environment in the clients everyday life.
Stage 3 Reinforcing and Release.
At stage 3 the client should be in a much better place mentally and will have developed the tools needed to regulate their thoughts, actions and emotions. We expect that 80% of clients that reach this stage will need little if any help in the future when it comes to their mind set.
